FRP Composite Materials Widely Adopted in Global Water Treatment & Desalination Projects

Release time:2026-09-29     Visits:95

Water treatment and seawater desalination projects face serious corrosion challenges brought by chemical wastewater and saltwater. Traditional metal materials easily rust, while cement structures are hard to install and heavy. Therefore, FRP fiberglass composite materials are increasingly popular among global engineering contractors.

FRP gratings, drainage pipes and pultruded profiles are widely used in wastewater treatment plants, chemical sewage pools and seawater desalination stations. These composite materials are resistant to acid, alkali and salt erosion. They are lightweight, easy to transport and install, and require almost no anti-rust maintenance after installation.

In recent years, projects in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa have greatly increased the procurement volume of FRP products. Engineering buyers focus more on product stability, customized size service and stable bulk supply capacity.

Industry experts predict that the demand for anti-corrosion FRP composite materials will keep growing in the next few years, especially in municipal environmental protection and industrial anti-corrosion engineering fields.
